A Connection Hub. Not Just a Synth.
The back of the Vibes is built like a hub: three powered USB-A host ports for modern class-compliant MIDI controllers, plus a full set of traditional 5-pin MIDI DIN — In, Out, and Thru. No drivers, no firmware updates, no laptop. Plug in your controllers, assign each one to its board on the touchscreen, and play.

What an Extended Setup Could Look Like.
Any class-compliant USB MIDI controller can be assigned to the Vibes. To show how this works in practice, here are two devices we use ourselves — one for the rhythmic, performative side, one for sound design and synth engine control.
Step Sequencing & Clip Launching
Akai Fire
A 4×16 grid of velocity-sensitive RGB pads — the only controller on the market that maps perfectly to the Vibes’ four parts and 16-step sequencer pages. Program drums, launch clips, and play notes without ever touching the touchscreen.
● 4×16 velocity-sensitive RGB pad grid
● OLED display + 4 touch-capacitive encoders
● Dedicated transport controls (play/stop/record)
● USB bus-powered, plug-and-play

Sound Design & Synth Engine Control
Novation Launch Control XL MK3
Eight faders, twenty-four endless encoders, and sixteen assignable RGB buttons — direct hands-on access to the Vibes synth engine. Map encoders to oscillator parameters, filter cutoff and resonance, modulation matrix slots, and effect chains. Sculpt sound the way sound should be sculpted: with knobs, not menus.
● 24 endless encoders → oscillators, filters, mod matrix
● 8 × 60mm faders → envelopes, mix levels, send amounts
● 16 assignable RGB buttons + OLED display
● 15 storable Custom Modes — pre-map per part or per patch

Multiple controllers, in parallel.
The Vibes can take all three USB ports at once and treat each connected controller as its own board. In the example above, the Fire handles sequencing on one port, the Launch Control XL handles sound design and synth control on another — leaving a third port free for a MIDI keyboard, drum pad, or USB hub.
